The Königshütte is a former iron foundry in Bad Lauterberg in the Harz Mountains, which was constructed in 1733. It was followed by a complex of buildings that are today known as an industrial monument. Since the foundry was decommissioned in 2001, the buildings are largely empty. In order to preserve the structure, the aim was to assign the Königshütte a completely new usage. With an educational yet entertaining, indoor exhibition developed by us, we were able to help create a new, nationwide attraction for the region’s residents and tourists alike. This enabled us to help preserve a monument to the region’s industrial heritage.
