Hamburg: Old Elbe Tunnel Hamburg – Feasibility Study

The St Pauli Elbe Tunnel (opened in 1911) has been a protected monument since 2003 but has remained one of the most important thoroughfares in Hamburg, and is primarily a landmark and tourist attraction. Apart from drafting a sketch with possible new usage possibilities, a future concept for the tunnel also offered initial approaches for a future business concept (primarily staff and operating costs, as well as investment costs). These form the basis for preparing further criteria for the Hamburg Port Authority and committees to decide on the future development of the old Elbe Tunnel.
